Top 10 FAQs
FAQ #1: Do I need to be able to speak French to attend this trip?
No. You do NOT have to be able to speak French to attend events offered during the scheduled tour workshops. Everything is in English and your on-site tour guides are bilingual. Included in your package is an English-speaking local Parisian guide.
FAQ #2: Do I need to be a writer or have experience writing?
No and No. Most writing will be in the form of journaling based on prompts related to the ways in which we will engage our senses in Paris. Though you are not expected to share your writing, you are asked to contribute to discussions. Journal, sketch, list, write letters, etc. What you write, and how you write, is for you to decide. You are encouraged to write by hand when possible.
FAQ #3: What age group is this for?
Age 21 and older.
FAQ #4: This is my first time in Paris, can I get recommendations for hotels?
Yes. We would be glad to recommend hotels and neighborhoods of interest. We can also recommend areas central to the majority of your retreat events.
FAQ #5: What are the workshops like and what supplies will I need to attend?
The workshops are designed to encourage reflection. You will meet your host writers on site (addresses & locations are on the itinerary you’ll receive digitally in April). Workshops often include walking; most last between 2 and 3 hours, though some events might be longer. When workshops conclude, the time is yours to enjoy Paris your way. During sessions, you will be presented with light commentary about locations and you’ll have time to explore, reflect, and write. If request by email (parisinward@gmail.com) 45 days prior to your scheduled retreat, we are happy to offer suggestions for activities and must-sees/dos outside the parameters of the retreat workshop times. Nevertheless, each workshop is complete with recommendations and extension activities nearby. You’ll need a journal or notebook and a few trusty writing utensils. Comfy footwear is advised due to the amount of walking.
FAQ #6: What’s the group going to be like?
Intimate. Your group will never be more than 12 travelers.
FAQ #7: Can I extend my stay on location or attend more workshops as an extended tour offering?
Yes, and Yes. Aside from events like the jazz night and wine tasting, you may certainly wish to remain on-site longer. When the session ends, it is not uncommon for travelers to decide to stay to uncover more secrets. If you’d like to extend your retreat, select the appropriate extension package after clicking it in the “boutique” tab. All extension bundles are on SALE!
FAQ #8: Are there discounts available for groups?
Yes. This tour is certainly designed to empower people to travel individually, yet sharing the experience is a way to compare and connect over similar experiences. Discounts for groups of 8 or more travelers who pay at once will receive a reduced rate of 30% per traveler. Email parisinward@gmail.com to discuss how we can tailor activities to meet the needs of your group and to provide you with directions on how to register.
FAQ #9: Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Email parisinward@gmail.com to take advantage of a payment plan of your own design! Aside from major credit cards, we have access to Venmo, PayPal, and accept personal checks and money orders. You pay an initial nonrefundable deposit of $400 then request a monthly payment schedule culminating with the total due in full by no later than 60 days prior to the start of your retreat.
FAQ #10: What’s the refund policy?
Our refund policy is about peace of mind. We understand that changes happen. You will receive a refund less a $400 nonrefundable deposit when you cancel by email to parisinward@gmail.com, no later than 60 days prior to the first day of your scheduled retreat.
